Mile House Veterinary Centre has been open for over eight years and has steadily grown from just 'Ed the Vet' providing 24/7 veterinary cover by himself, to now three vets and a number of support staff, as well as a thriving grooming business.
We are situated on the edge of Northallerton and cover most of North Yorkshire and into County Durham and Teeside. We provide an emergency line, which goes straight through to a vet out-of-hours, and is open 24 hours a day; 365 days a year. We can nearly always offer you a consultation with a veterinary surgeon the same day (100% of the time if it is an emergency) either at the practice or at your home.

Mile House Veterinary Centre has recently become an approved Veterinary Nurse Training Practice (TP). To achieve this status we were inspected by our Veterinary Nursing Approved Centre (VNAC), Askham Bryan College. A VNAC is an organisation approved by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) to manage veterinary nurse training and to enforce training standards.
It is very time-consuming and expensive to achieve this status and maintain it. However, we want to provide high quality veterinary care and accomplishing the status of TP is one way of making sure we achieve this to the highest standard. This also means that our nurse Rachel is able to continue learning both at work and college the correct way nursing care should be given and hopefully our patients then receive the best quality care possible.
